International Women’s Day should not overlook the forgotten victims of war

As the world marks International Women’s Day it is worth noting the situation of women in war zones. They are often the forgotten victims.

Many are left widowed or have husbands unemployed by the shattered economies and are forced into often exploitive employment while trying to care for children at the same time.

Crime also thrives in war zones and violence against women often goes unchallenged.
